At Oasiz, Inc. ("Oasiz," "Badger," "we," "us," or "our"), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect Personal Data when you use the Badger mobile application, Badger experiences in Messages, our websites including gobadger.app, and related products and services (collectively, the "Services").
"Personal Data" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked with an individual or household. This Policy does not apply to information that has been deidentified or aggregated so that it cannot reasonably be linked to you. Your use of the Services is also subject to our Terms of Use. Our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy provides additional disclosures and rights concerning Consumer Health Data.
1. What this Policy covers
This Policy covers Personal Data we process when you access or use the Services, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with Badger. It does not cover the practices of companies we do not own or control. For example, Apple separately controls information in your Apple Account, App Store account, and Apple Health app under its own policies.
2. Personal Data we collect
The categories below describe the Personal Data we may collect, including within the preceding 12 months.
| Category | Examples | Why we process it |
|---|---|---|
| Account and contact data | Phone number, pseudonymous account identifier, authentication status, and support correspondence. | Create and secure your account; authenticate you; send service communications; respond to support requests. |
| Profile, goals, and preferences | Age, sex, height, weight, body-composition information, dietary goals, allergies, food preferences, notification preferences, and other information you choose to provide. | Personalize Badger; calculate and display nutrition goals and progress; remember your preferences. |
| Nutrition and activity data | Food and drink logs, estimated nutrients, water intake, saved foods and meals, exercise, workouts, steps, energy burned, heart rate, resting heart rate, and related trends. | Provide logging, coaching, progress, reminders, and insights requested by you. |
| Apple Health data | Health and fitness data you authorize Badger to read from or write to Apple Health, such as body measurements, activity, workouts, heart-rate metrics, and nutrition. | Sync information at your direction and personalize your Badger experience. Health permissions are controlled through Apple Health settings. |
| Conversations and content | Messages, photos, voice notes, videos, PDFs, other attachments, support communications, and AI-generated summaries or memories derived from your interactions. | Respond to you; log meals; provide personalized coaching; maintain conversational continuity; investigate service issues when authorized or necessary. |
| Location data | Location from your device when you grant permission, including coordinates used for nearby food or restaurant discovery, and general location inferred from IP address. | Provide location-based features you request; protect and operate the Services. |
| Transaction and subscription data | Subscription product, purchase status, entitlement, renewal, and transaction identifiers. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple. | Provide paid features; validate entitlements; support purchases and restores; meet financial and legal obligations. |
| Device, network, and usage data | Device and operating-system information, app version, IP address, request timing, diagnostics, security logs, and interactions necessary to operate the Services. | Deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services; prevent fraud and abuse. |
| Inferences | Estimated nutrition, patterns, preferences, progress, and other conclusions generated from information you provide. | Provide the personalized features and guidance you request. |
You are not required to provide every category of information. However, certain information is needed for particular features. For example, Badger cannot sync Apple Health data unless you grant the relevant Apple Health permissions.
3. Sources of Personal Data
We collect Personal Data:
- Directly from you, including during onboarding, through conversations and uploads, when you log meals or activity, and when you contact support.
- From your device and Apple services, when you grant permissions such as Apple Health or location access, and when Apple provides subscription status.
- Automatically through the Services, such as technical request, security, and diagnostic information.
- From service providers and public data sources, such as subscription entitlement information from our subscription-management provider and food or barcode information from food databases.
- From our own analysis, including nutrition estimates, conversational memories, and other inferences generated to provide the Services.
4. How we use Personal Data
We use Personal Data to:
- provide, maintain, and personalize Badger, including nutrition logging, conversational memory, progress views, notifications, nearby suggestions, and Apple Health syncing;
- authenticate users, maintain accounts and subscriptions, and process requested transactions;
- communicate with you about the Services, including support, product notices, security notices, and legal updates;
- monitor, secure, debug, and prevent fraudulent, harmful, or unauthorized activity;
- analyze and improve reliability, safety, functionality, and user experience, including through aggregated or deidentified information;
- enforce our agreements, comply with law, and protect the rights, safety, and property of users, Oasiz, and others; and
- carry out another purpose that we describe when we collect the information or that you direct or consent to.
Badger uses artificial intelligence to interpret your messages and content, estimate nutrition, respond to questions, and create relevant conversational memories. AI outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate. See the Health and AI section of our Terms for important limitations.
5. How we disclose Personal Data
We may disclose Personal Data to the following categories of recipients for the purposes described in this Policy:
- Service providers. Vendors that provide cloud hosting, authentication, artificial-intelligence processing, conversational memory, messaging delivery, subscription management, security, and website delivery. These providers process information for us under contractual or other restrictions appropriate to their role.
- Apple and services you direct. We exchange information with Apple when you use App Store subscriptions, notifications, Apple Health syncing, or other Apple services. We may disclose information to another service when you ask us to do so.
- Professional advisers. Lawyers, auditors, insurers, financial institutions, and other advisers where reasonably necessary for their services.
- Authorities and other parties for legal or safety reasons. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe doing so is required by law or necessary to protect rights, property, users, the public, or the integrity of the Services.
- Business-transfer recipients. Personal Data may be disclosed in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of some or all of our assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections where applicable.
- With your direction or consent. We may disclose information to other parties when you direct us or give consent.
Authorized Oasiz personnel and contractors may access Personal Data when reasonably necessary to provide support, debug a reported problem, protect the Services, or comply with law. We use role-based restrictions and other safeguards designed to limit that access. We do not promise that conversations are inaccessible to every human operator.
6. Sale, targeted advertising, and training
We do not sell Personal Data. We do not share Personal Data for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use Consumer Health Data or private Badger conversations for targeted advertising. The gobadger.app website does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts.
We may use aggregated or deidentified information to understand and improve the Services, provided we maintain it in deidentified form and do not attempt to reidentify it except as permitted by law. If we materially change how private conversations or Consumer Health Data are used for general-purpose model training, we will update this Policy and obtain consent where required.
7. Apple Health and device permissions
Badger requests Apple Health access only for data types connected to features you choose to use. You control each permission in Apple Health settings and may revoke it at any time. Badger does not use Apple Health data for advertising, data brokerage, or purposes unrelated to health and fitness services. Deleting Badger does not automatically delete information already written to Apple Health; you manage that information through Apple Health.
You can also manage location, notification, microphone, photo-library, camera, and other device permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work after a permission is revoked.
8. Messages and communications
If you choose to interact with Badger through Messages or another messaging channel, we process your phone number, message content, attachments, delivery status, and related metadata to provide that feature. Message frequency varies based on your activity and settings. Carrier message and data rates may apply. You can change notification or coaching-message preferences through the Services or contact us for help.
We may send non-promotional communications that are necessary for your account, transactions, security, or legal notices. Where required, we will ask for consent before sending marketing communications, and you may opt out of them without losing access to essential service messages.
9. Cookies and online tracking
The gobadger.app website is a static informational site and does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting and security provider may process standard server logs, such as IP address, request time, and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. Your browser or operating system may offer "Do Not Track" or similar signals. Because the site does not engage in targeted advertising, there is no advertising preference to change through such a signal.
10. Data retention and deletion
We keep Personal Data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account and conversational continuity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the Services. Retention varies by the nature and purpose of the information.
Deleting your Badger account removes active account data from Badger’s primary account systems and deletes the associated authentication identity. Some information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or service-provider systems while deletion is propagated, or longer where required for fraud prevention, billing, legal compliance, or dispute resolution. Apple and our subscription-management provider may retain App Store transaction and entitlement records. Data already written to Apple Health remains under your control in Apple Health. We may retain deidentified information that can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
You may also contact contact@gobadger.app to request access, correction, or deletion. We will process verified requests as required by applicable law. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains additional health-data rights.
11. Data security
We use technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect Personal Data, including encrypted transport, access controls, scoped identifiers, and restricted production access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, phone number, Apple Account, and authentication credentials.
12. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided Personal Data to Badger, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Users under the age of legal majority where they live must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Services.
13. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of Personal Data; receive a portable copy; obtain information about our collection and disclosure; opt out of certain sales, sharing, profiling, or targeted advertising; or limit certain uses of sensitive Personal Data. We do not sell Personal Data or use it for targeted advertising.
To exercise a right, email contact@gobadger.app. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. You may use an authorized agent where allowed by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision and stating that you wish to appeal.
California notice
The categories of Personal Data we collect are described in Section 2. The business purposes and recipient categories are described in Sections 4 and 5. We do not sell or share Personal Data as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not knowingly sell or share Personal Data of consumers under 16. California residents may request to know, access, correct, or delete covered Personal Data and may limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive Personal Data as provided by law.
Nevada residents
Nevada residents may submit a verified request concerning the sale of covered information. We do not currently sell covered information as defined by Nevada law. Requests may be sent to contact@gobadger.app.
14. International users
Oasiz is based in the United States, and the Services are currently directed to users in the United States. If you use the Services from another jurisdiction, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Services and law evolve. We will post the updated version at this URL and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use previously collected Personal Data, we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required.
